Abstract

Academic calendar management that is still carried out manually often leads to problems such as delays in academic activities due to missed or forgotten schedules. This study aims to design a mobile-based academic calendar reminder application integrated with WhatsApp notifications to assist lecturers, students, and academic staff in managing academic schedules more effectively. The system was developed using the Agile Software Development methodology, consisting of the stages of Requirement Planning, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment, and Evaluation. The system design was modeled using UML diagrams, including Use Case Diagrams, Activity Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, Class Diagrams, and an Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) for database design. Application testing was conducted using the Black Box Testing method with the Equivalence Partitioning technique on features such as login, schedule management, schedule listing, and WhatsApp notification delivery. The testing results indicate that all major application features functioned according to the specified functional requirements and achieved successful test outcomes. The application is capable of providing automatic reminders through WhatsApp notifications, helping users monitor academic activities on time, improve discipline, and reduce the risk of delays in the implementation of academic activities.
