Elevator speed control is an important aspect in improving efficiency, safety, and user comfort. Conventional control systems generally apply fixed thresholds, making them less capable of adapting to dynamic changes in the number of passengers. This limitation can lead to suboptimal elevator performance and inefficient energy consumption. Therefore, this study aims to design a fuzzy logic–based elevator speed control system by considering the number of passengers as the input variable. The proposed method employs the Mamdani fuzzy inference system, where the number of passengers is classified into several fuzzy sets, namely low, medium, and high. Meanwhile, the system output is the elevator speed, which is categorized into slow, medium, and fast. The decision-making process consists of fuzzification, inference, and defuzzification stages to determine the optimal elevator speed. The results indicate that the application of fuzzy logic enables the elevator speed to be adjusted more adaptively and proportionally according to variations in the number of passengers. Consequently, the proposed system can enhance operational efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and improve safety and comfort for elevator users.
